Glass veil is versatile due to its properties. It is ideal for smoothing and consolidating interior wall and ceiling surfaces as well as for renovating and refurbishing load-bearing substrates. It can also be used to bridge cracks in cracked or crack-prone substrates. Due to its high-quality primer, it is particularly suitable for use in the commercial sector, as it ensures evenly absorbent paint absorption. This also saves time and labour. Furthermore, the glass veil is dimensionally stable, rot-proof, and free of PVC, solvents and plasticisers.
The substrate must be dry, of the same colour, clean and load-bearing. Old wallpaper and water-swellable coatings must be removed. Cracks, joints and unevenness must be professionally filled with gypsum-based levelling compounds. Pre-treat highly absorbent substrates with deep primer. Use glass fabric adhesive for bonding. Cut the sheets to the required length with an allowance of 5 - 10 cm for the top and bottom edges. Apply the adhesive evenly to the substrate in 1 - 2 strips using a lambskin roller. Lay the cut strip into the still damp adhesive bed and press it down with a wallpaper spatula or wallpaper roller without leaving any bubbles. Apply the next strip butt-jointed or with a double-seam cut. Cut off any excess. After drying, the fleece can be painted over with emulsion, latex or acrylic paints, depending on your preference and the wear and tear.
