For painting over and/or smoothing and consolidating interior wall and ceiling surfaces as well as for renovating and refurbishing load-bearing substrates. For bridging cracks on cracked or crack-prone substrates. Due to the special finish, it is excellently suited for the contract sector, especially for heavily used areas such as corridors, staircases, common rooms, etc. Furthermore, Das Glasvlies is dimensionally stable, crack-bridging, rot-resistant, wet-stable and suitable for painting over.
The substrate must be dry, of the same colour, clean and load-bearing. Remove old wallpaper and water-swellable coatings. Cracks, joints and unevenness must be professionally filled with gypsum-based levelling compounds. Pre-treat highly absorbent substrates with deep primer. Use special glass fabric adhesives or dispersion adhesives for application. Cut the sheets to the required length, adding 5 - 10 cm to even out the top and bottom edges. Apply the adhesive evenly to the substrate in 1 - 2 strips using a lambskin roller. Lay the cut-to-size strip into the still wet adhesive bed and press it down with a wallpaper scraper or wallpaper roller without leaving any bubbles. Apply the following strips butt-jointed. After drying, the fleece can be painted with emulsion, latex or acrylic paints, depending on the requirements.
