Background® PRO 5in1 is a smooth, one-side white pre-coated non-woven lining paper made of cellulose and polyester fibres with acrylic binder and pre-pigmentation. The smooth non-woven creates breathable and even substrates and is therefore the optimal substrate for painting and design work. Also ideal for renovation and restoration of cracked and crack-prone substrates. Since the non-woven lining papere is pre-painted, you save time and material when working. At the same time, Background PRO offers you the highest opacity and optimum paint absorption and is hard-wearing, tear-resistant, dimensionally stable and crack-bridging. In addition, Background Pro is skin-friendly and free of PVC, solvents, plasticisers, formaldehyde and heavy metals.
The substrate must be dry, of the same colour, clean and load-bearing. Remove old wallpaper and water-swellable coatings beforehand. Fill cracks, joints and unevenness with gypsum-based levelling compounds. Pre-treat highly absorbent substrates with deep primer. The smooth non-woven is wallpapered with non-woven adhesive like a normal non-woven wallpaper. After drying, paint over with dispersion, latex or acrylic paints, as desired and depending on the load. Alternatively, the product can be coated using the airless method. To achieve a perfect coating result, finishing with a short-pile paint roller is recommended.
